Football Recap: Charles City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Charles City fell victim to Northumberland and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 53-0 loss at the hands of the Indians. The Panthers have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Northumberland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyreek Lundy, who rushed for 30 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 185 yards and two TDs on only 11 passes. The dominant performance also gave Lundy a new career-high in passer rating (146.8). Jasir Smith was another key rusher, rushing for 54 yards and two scores on only five carries.

Charles City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Northumberland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charles City will take on Surry County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northumberland, they will face off against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
