Softball Game Preview: Seacrest Country Day Stingrays vs. Community School of Naples Seahawks

Seacrest Country Day has gone 8-2 against Community School of Naples recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. Seacrest Country Day is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Seacrest Country Day proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and last Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mason Classical Academy 4-2. The win was familiar territory for the Stingrays, who have now won three matches in a row.

Caroline Porter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jolie Booth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Maeve Magee-Fullam also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Community School of Naples). They blew past Golden Gate 25-10 last Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Seahawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Community School of Naples' victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Seacrest Country Day, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
