Preview: Marksville Tigers vs. Alexandria Trojans
Marksville is 1-7 against Alexandria since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Marksville Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Alexandria Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Two weeks ago, Marksville was beaten by Wossman 92-50. While losing is never fun, Marksville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Wossman is ranked fourth).
Meanwhile, Alexandria unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were dealt a 83-46 loss at the hands of Oak Hill.
This is the second loss in a row for Marksville and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Alexandria, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Marksville came up short against Alexandria in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 48-42. Can Marksville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
