Recap: Millard West Wildcats vs. Gretna Dragons

If the Millard West Wildcats were feeling good off their 79-33 takedown of the Buena Vista Bison last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Millard West took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gretna on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Millard West has scored all season.

Millard West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carter LaBorde, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Fortune, who scored 11 points.

Millard West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Gretna, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Millard West won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Elkhorn South at 10:15 a.m. on December 30th. Hopefully Elkhorn South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. Gretna won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Papillion-LaVista South at 5:15 p.m. on December 30th. Papillion-LaVista South has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 454 points over their last seven games.
