Softball Game Preview: Charles City Panthers vs. Mathews Blue Devils

Charles City hasn't had much luck against Mathews recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Charles City will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating West Point, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Pointers on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Mathews entered their tilt with Northampton on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Yellowjackets. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won ten contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mathews' win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Charles City, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
