Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Carmel + How To Watch

Carmel waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Normal Community Ironmen with points to spare, taking the game 60-44. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Corsairs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Ironmen are ranked 123rd).

A big part of Carmel's victory came down to the chemistry between Trae Taylor and his top target Eli Jackson. Taylor threw for 371 yards and three TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes while Jackson picked up 223 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Jackson a new career-high.

Normal Community lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lucas Beaty, who threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also punched in one rushing score. Normal Community's leading receiver Luke Potts was Beaty's top target yet again, picking up 172 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Carmel's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Normal Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

As of now, neither Carmel nor the Ironmen have any future games scheduled.
