Basketball Recap: Hudson Gourley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]

Walsh proved they can win big back in December of 2024 (they won by 22) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots 54-51. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 49-48 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Walsh got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Gourley out in front who went 5 for 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Malone, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] still got an impressive performance from LJ Willis, who posted 22 points. Willis' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jorey Billings was another key player, putting up ten points.

Walsh's record now sits at 3-4. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Walsh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-30 victory against Aguilar on the 11th. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-69 win against Centennial on the 11th.
