Softball Game Preview: Londonderry Lancers vs. Dover Green Wave

Londonderry is 7-1 against Dover since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lancers will square off against the Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. Londonderry will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Londonderry is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Hampshire's top teams: Windham, who was ranked 16th at the time (Londonderry was ranked third). The Lancers skirted past the Jaguars 2-0.

Windham's batters probably weren't too happy with Elisabeth Kearney, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Kearney has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Londonderry's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addison Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Dover fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Goffstown on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Green Wave in their meetings with the Grizzlies: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaitlyn Jolicoeur spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

Londonderry's win bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Dover, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Dover's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Londonderry has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for Dover, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Londonderry's hitters?

Londonderry beat Dover 3-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
