Baseball Recap: Susquehanna Township Comes Up Short

Susquehanna Township had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 8-7 to make it four. They fell just short of the Trinity Shamrocks by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the HANNA were not able to get on the board.

Austin Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

As for Trinity, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

On Trinity's side, the team relied heavily on Garreth Calder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits Calder has posted since back in March.

Susquehanna Township wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-3 win against York Suburban on the 2nd. As for Trinity, they have also already played their next game, an 11-4 victory against York Catholic on the 3rd.
