Softball Recap: United Comes Up Short

United extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They came up short against the Northern Cambria Colts, falling 17-2. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Colts from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

United saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mya Lichtenfels, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Kenedi Fiochetta also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

As for Northern Cambria, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Northern Cambria's side, the team relied heavily on Alexa Fox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Fox has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reese Baker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Northern Cambria beat United by a score of 14-2 on Wednesday.
