Football Recap: Oglethorpe County Comes Up Short

After soaring to 42 points the game before, Oglethorpe County was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 38-3 defeat at the hands of the Laney Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Caden Hartrum threw for 31 yards on two of five attempts. On the ground, Paris Crowder rushed for 58 yards on only five carries.

Oglethorpe County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Laney, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Oglethorpe County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Elbert County at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Laney, they will welcome Greene County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
