Basketball Game Preview: Laguardia vs. Hunter College Hawks

Laguardia hasn't had much luck against Hunter College recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Laguardia will head out to take on the Hunter College Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Laguardia is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Beacon, falling 73-46. While losing is never fun, Laguardia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 668th, while Beacon is ranked 155th).

Meanwhile, Hunter College didn't have quite enough to beat Douglass Academy on Tuesday and fell 53-50. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Laguardia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Hunter College, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Laguardia was dealt a bruising 87-40 defeat at the hands of Hunter College in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hunter College's JACKSON COHEN, who went 14 of 26 en route to 32 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
