Softball Game Preview: Edinburg North Cougars vs. Edinburg Bobcats

The Edinburg North Cougars will head out to square off against the Edinburg Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edinburg North's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Edinburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Edinburg North easily dispatched La Joya on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Cougars fell just short of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Edinburg faced off against Weslaco on Friday. The Bobcats lost 15-0 to the Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Edinburg North's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8-1. As for Edinburg, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Edinburg North was able to grind out a solid victory over Edinburg in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
