The Fife Trojans will take on the Peninsula Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fife has three straight victories, Peninsula has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Fife made easy work of Clover Park and carried off a 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Mallory Geving made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Fife got a massive performance out of Ashlynn Monroe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave Monroe a new career-high. Hope Cole was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Timberline hit Peninsula with a four-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Seahawks fell just short of the Blazers by a score of 8-7.
Izzy Michaels was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Miranda, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Fife's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Peninsula, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fife hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Peninsula struggles in that department as they've averaged .390. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
