Basketball Recap: Mcminn County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

McMinn County lost against Walker Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The McMinn County Cherokees took an 81-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walker Valley Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Cherokees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Mustangs are ranked 12th).

The loss snapped McMinn County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-9 record. As for Walker Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

McMinn County will head out to square off against Howard Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Howard Tech's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Walker Valley, they will be playing at home against Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
