Recap: Notre Dame Catholic Lancers vs. Masuk Panthers
The Notre Dame Catholic Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 54-47 to Masuk. While losing is never fun, Notre Dame Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Masuk is ranked 19th).
Loss or not, Notre Dame Catholic got some senior leadership from Kendra Mitacek who scored 18 points along with three steals and Madison Gibbs who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Notre Dame Catholic bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Masuk, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Notre Dame Catholic will head out on the road to face off against New Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Fairfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Masuk, they will be playing at home against Law at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
