Softball Game Preview: Red Bank Catholic Caseys vs. Marlboro Mustangs

The Red Bank Catholic Caseys will head out on the road to take on the Marlboro Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Sunday, Red Bank Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Immaculate Heart Academy and fell 3-2. The loss put an end to the Caseys' undefeated start to the season.

Red Bank Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Lombardi, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Marlboro might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Middletown North who claimed the real prize. The Mustangs fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4. The Mustangs have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Emily Gaudio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Adison Ditillo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Red Bank Catholic fell to 2-1. As for Marlboro, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
