Softball Game Preview: Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners vs. Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers

The Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners will head out to face off against the Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pamlico Christian Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Eastern Christian HomeSchool likes a good challenge.

Pamlico Christian Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Faith Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mariners were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Conquerors on Monday. That looming 10-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mariners yet this season.

Robin Gaskins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Maggie Gaskins and Dannielle Palagyi did most of the damage at the plate: Maggie went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs, while Palagyi scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Palagyi has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Carolina Wright was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Pamlico Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Eastern Christian HomeSchool earned a 6-2 victory over Ahoskie Christian on Thursday. The Trailblazers haven't had any issues with Ahoskie Christian recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Pamlico Christian Academy's record is now 3-5. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, their record now sits at 7-1.
