Volleyball Recap: Carson Beats East Rowan for Their Fifth Straight Win

Carson had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the East Rowan Mustangs. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-15.

Carson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alana Herring, who had ten digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Carmen Graham, who had ten digs.

Despite the loss, East Rowan still got an impressive performance from Jordan Dry, who had 17 digs. Dry is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Carson's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for East Rowan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carson will take on rival Northwest Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Rowan is set to face off against their familiar foe Salisbury at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
