Volleyball Recap: Willowbrook Comes Up Short

Willowbrook lost to Berwyn/Cicero Morton back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

Willowbrook was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Berwyn/Cicero Morton work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 27-25.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cesar Moreno, who had 17 assists and nine digs. That's the most digs Moreno has posted over his last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Jesus Zenteno, who had 13 assists and six digs.

Willowbrook has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Coming up, Willowbrook will head out to challenge West Chicago at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they will challenge Glenbard West at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
