League recap: Guinn's hot bat leads Auburn Mountainview

3A SPSL league recap: 5/14/12

Shawn Guinn was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .750 average with two RBIs. Auburn Mountainview compiled a record of 0-0 in that time.

Peninsula made the biggest jump in the national rankings, moving from 3967 to 3618 thanks to a 1-1 record over the past week. Peninsula is currently No. 58 in the state of Washington, with an overall record of 17-4.

The Lions' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing seven hits and nine walks to lead the league in both categories. Auburn Mountainview has given up a mere 117 hits on the year in addition to compiling 172 strikeouts. Nick Brooks is the leader in that category with 62 Ks on the season.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Chris Hunter, who turned in five Ks for the Lions. With 34 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks ninth in the league.
