Baseball Recap: Atholton Comes Up Short

Atholton saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They lost 8-1 to the Damascus Hornets. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Atholton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Damascus, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Atholton will square off against Marriotts Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marriotts Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something Atholton will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Damascus, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Southern on the 16th.
