Softball Recap: Oberlin Phoenix vs. Black River Pirates
Oberlin had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it five. They lost 18-0 to the Black River Pirates. The Phoenix were not able to make up for their loss to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.
As for Black River, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Black River's part, Rebekah Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.
