Softball Recap: Milaca Drops Season-High Score on Upsala

Milaca scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Upsala Cardinals by a score of 8-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 8-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Izzy Roehl and Lydia Cramlet did some serious damage despite the final result: Roehl got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Cramlet got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Ashley Droogsma, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Milaca has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Upsala, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.

Milaca wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 22-0 defeat against Princeton on the 10th. As for Upsala, they will welcome Benson at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
