Baseball Game Preview: Carroll Tigers vs. North Polk Comets

Carroll is 0-8 against North Polk since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Comets at 5:00 p.m. Carroll will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

On Saturday, Carroll beat Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute 9-5.

Meanwhile, North Polk earned an 8-5 win over Waverly-Shell Rock on Friday.

North Polk has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Carroll, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

Carroll couldn't quite finish off North Polk in their previous matchup back in June of 2024 and fell 17-15. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
