Recap: Eastside Rams vs. Santa Fe Raiders
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Eastside Rams had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They breezed by the Raiders on the road to the tune of 57-22. Eastside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.
Leading Eastside to victory were Akira Martin and Aniya West. Martin scored 14 points, while West scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points West has scored all season. Precious Marshall was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Despite the defeat, Santa Fe saw an underclassman step up: Haleigh Richburgh scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Richburgh has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Eastside's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Santa Fe, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Eastside's road trip will continue as they head out to face Palatka on February 9th. Santa Fe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
