Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Charlotte Latin's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

The Charlotte Latin Hawks got the win against the Lee Park Prep Knights on Monday by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 12 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ainsley Sullivan made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Charlotte Latin let Irie King and Caroline Coble run wild. King went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Coble went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That triple was King's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Talia Hawa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Charlotte Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Charlotte Latin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Lee Park Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Charlotte Latin will challenge Providence Day at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lee Park Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
