Basketball Recap: Raleigh-Egypt Comes Up Short

Raleigh-Egypt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marked Tree Indians. While losing is never fun, the Pharaohs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 279th in Tennessee, while the Indians are ranked 53rd in Arkansas).

Raleigh-Egypt's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Marked Tree, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Raleigh-Egypt has already played their next match (against Craigmont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marked Tree wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-18 victory against KIPP Blytheville on the 20th.
