Recap: Valley Christian Trojans vs. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions
The Valley Christian Trojans entered their tilt with the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Valley Christian simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Pusch Ridge Christian Academy 93-60 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-28.
Valley Christian can attribute much of their success to Luke Shaw, who scored 29 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shaw has scored at least 25% of Valley Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Wallace, who scored 14 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Pusch Ridge Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mason Hoke. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. The contest was Hoke's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ben Lambe, who scored 13 points.
Valley Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Valley Christian has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Benjamin Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Benjamin Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Ironwood Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Carter Brown and Hoke.
