Volleyball Game Preview: Sturgis Brown Scoopers vs. Rapid City Central Cobblers

Sturgis Brown is 2-8 against Rapid City Central since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Sturgis Brown lost 3-0 to Stevens on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Rapid City Central came up short against Spearfish on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Cobblers in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

While Rapid City Central was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Spearfish's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13, 25-20.

Rapid City Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Sturgis Brown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-20.

Sturgis Brown suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Rapid City Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Scoopers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
