Mid-Lakes recap October 22, 2013

Strafford added to the longest winning streak in Mid-Lakes this week by beating University Academy Charter, 47-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.

Marionville made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,443 from 7,099. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 40-26 victory over Skyline last week.

Logan Allred was a force in the backfield as Ash Grove defeated Fair Grove.

Dallas Hester was a key player and the best on defense this week as Strafford bested the Gryphons. The 6-foot-0 junior nabbed 2 interceptions.

Jacob Wade threw for 333 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 25-40 with 0 interceptions.

Wade put up the best numbers through the air as Tim Hester's team beat University Academy Charter. Wade's favorite target this week was Hester, who caught 7 passes for 109 yards.

The Indians' Wade and Hester led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Wade has thrown for 1,876 yards this season, while Hester has 46 catches for 811 yards. The Pirates' Allred leads the league in rushing yards with 1,678.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Strafford takes on second place Ash Grove. Last week, Strafford bested Dan Stanley's team, while Ash Grove beat the Eagles.

Going into this week's contest against Doug Martin's team, the Indians' Wade needs 124 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
