Basketball Recap: Huss Drops Season-High Score on Stuart W. Cramer

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Huss). They blew past the Stuart W. Cramer Storm 94-58 on Tuesday. The Huskies pushed the score to 76-43 by the end of the third, a deficit the Storm had no chance of recovering from.

Leading Huss to victory were Jaleel Smith and Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips. Smith went 11 for 19 en route to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Phillips went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points along with five assists and three steals. Smith is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Antonio Worthy was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Huss smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Stuart W. Cramer still got an impressive performance from Zack Alexander, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points. That's the most points Alexander has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Darren Stowe, who had six points.

Huss has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.7 points over those games. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Coming up, Huss will welcome Ashbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ashbrook's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 20 games. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will venture away from home to challenge Forestview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
