Softball Game Preview: Delta Charter Dragons vs. Elliot Christian Eagles

Delta Charter is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will face off against the Elliot Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Elliot Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Delta Charter, who comes in off a win.

Delta Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against River Islands on Friday as Delta Charter made off with a 12-6 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dragons considering their one-run performance the match before.

Aaliyah Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evelyn Gutierrez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Madyson Torres, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Elliot Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Millennium, falling 18-1.

Elliot Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Delta Charter, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
