Volleyball Game Preview: MacArthur Brahmas vs. Southside Cardinals

MacArthur is a perfect 4-0 against Southside since August of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Brahmas will welcome the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in MacArthur's favor as the team sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Southside has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

MacArthur is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since August 28th on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Jay 3-2.

MacArthur was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Southside faced off against South San Antonio on Tuesday. The Cardinals lost 3-0 to the Bobcats.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-20.

MacArthur will need to focus on slowing down Justinne Padilla, one of several Southside players who made an impact when they last played. She had 11 digs.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 25-12. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-29.

MacArthur was able to grind out a solid victory over Southside in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. Do the Brahmas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
