Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Albemarle School beat Southampton 47-41. The win was just what Albemarle School needed coming off of a 60-22 loss in their prior matchup.
Madelyn Delosreyes was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Another player making a difference was Braelyne Brewer, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, First Flight put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Northern Nash on the road to the tune of 55-27. Fans of First Flight have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Aubrey Phanton and Abby Miles were among the main playmakers for First Flight as the former scored 7 points along with 13 rebounds and the latter scored 12 points along with 3 steals. Miles hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Voight, who scored 14 points.
First Flight's win bumped their season record to 3-0 while Albemarle School's defeat dropped theirs to 5-2.
