Basketball Game Preview: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Joliet West Tigers

Plainfield East is on a nine-game streak of home losses, Joliet West a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Plainfield East Bengals will welcome the Joliet West Tigers at 6:30 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-37, which was the final score in Plainfield East's tilt against Plainfield South on Thursday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Joliet West). They strolled past Romeoville with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 70-54.

Plainfield East better keep an eye on Makayla J Chism. She was instrumental in Joliet West's win, putting up 23 points. J Chism continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Khiana Tyler, who posted 13 points.

Joliet West's win bumped their record up to 5-21. As for Plainfield East, their loss dropped their record down to 4-23.

Plainfield East didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Joliet West in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. Will Plainfield East repeat their success, or does Joliet West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
