Volleyball Recap: Atascadero Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Joseph on Tuesday, Atascadero came back down to earth. The Greyhounds came up short against the San Luis Obispo Tigers on Thursday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

While Atascadero was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-8.

Atascadero's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for San Luis Obispo, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Atascadero and San Luis Obispo should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Greyhounds will challenge Templeton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (152 vs. 667). Meanwhile, San Luis Obispo (ranked 21st) will meet Arroyo Grande (ranked 102nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
