Basketball Recap: Potomac School Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Bullis

Potomac School is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bullis. The Potomac School Panthers fell 69-61 to the Bullis Bulldogs. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Potomac School lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Catherine Letendre, who posted 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Letendre has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Sabrina Anderson was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Bullis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ivanna Manyacka, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Sophia Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Potomac School's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Bullis, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Potomac School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season. As for Bullis, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sidwell Friends at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Bullis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Sidwell Friends likes a good challenge.
