Baseball Recap: Ignacio Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

The Ignacio Bobcats beat the Sanford Mustangs 8-4 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Ambrose V made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

V wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole W, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another was Stoney W, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Ignacio pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Sanford, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
