Soccer Game Preview: McHenry vs. Elgin

The McHenry Warriors will face off against the Elgin Maroons at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. McHenry's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for McHenry's offense. They came up short against Grayslake North on Thursday, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Elgin put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Hampshire. While Elgin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

McHenry now has a losing record of 1-2-2. As for Elgin, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0-1.
