Football Game Preview: Fremont Firebirds vs. South San Francisco Warriors + How To Watch

Fremont is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the South San Francisco Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Fremont comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Fremont's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Half Moon Bay last Friday. They were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Firebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 812th, while the Cougars are ranked 385th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South San Francisco, who bounced back after a loss on the road on September 12th. They managed a 14-9 win over Sequoia last Friday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Warriors were the better team in the second half.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for South San Francisco, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Fremont couldn't quite get it done against South San Francisco in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 20-7. Can the Firebirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
