Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Comes Up Short

Notre Dame Prep had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-10 to make it six. They lost 14-3 to the New Milford Green Wave. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lancers of the 12-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for New Milford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Considering they have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For New Milford's part, Nick Allen looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Nolan Bell was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Ramery, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Prep will head out to square off against New Canaan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Milford, they will venture away from home to face off against Kolbe-Cathedral at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season.
