Baseball Recap: Blacklick Valley Gets the Win

Blacklick Valley won the last time they faced Turkeyfoot Valley Area and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rams a 10-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

The result came thanks to Landon Turcheck's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blacklick Valley got a big performance out of Nick Garver, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Garver's first of the season. Eli Sheesley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Blacklick Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.8.
