Pearl River Central hasn't had much luck against Hattiesburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pearl River Central Blue Devils will challenge the Hattiesburg Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pearl River Central is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by West Jones 50-20. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Mustangs are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, Hattiesburg played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 53-26 defeat at the hands of Terry. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Pearl River Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Hattiesburg, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Pearl River Central might still be hurting after the 49-25 loss they got from Hattiesburg in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Pearl River Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
