After a string of four wins, Union Local's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to the Bellaire Big Reds 43-37. The Jets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Big Reds earlier this season, when they won 40-37.

Bellaire got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zara Harveth out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Mason, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Union Local's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2. As for Bellaire, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Union Local and Bellaire should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Union Local (ranked 88th) will meet Cambridge (ranked 636th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bellaire (ranked 100th) will meet St. Clairsville (ranked 702nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
