Football Recap: Caldwell Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Caldwell's offense. They had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Columbia Wildcats. The Cougars have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Jackson Cheslak had an outrageously good game for Columbia as he rushed for 91 yards and four TDs on only nine carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Cheslak a new career-high. Santiago Carbajal was another key rusher, rushing for 61 yards and one touchdown.

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Columbia, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Caldwell will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Gooding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Nampa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
