Morristown-Hamblen West won the last time they faced Cocke County and Malachi Monroe did his part to make sure it happened again. The Trojans took down the Fighting Cocks 44-30 on Friday thanks in part to Monroe, who rushed for 187 yards and five TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 54 receiving yards. He is becoming a predictor of Morristown-Hamblen West's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

Despite the loss, Cocke County still got an impressive performance from Eli Roberts, who rushed for 73 yards and one score.

The victory made it two in a row for Morristown-Hamblen West and bumps their season record up to 3-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.5 points over those games. As for Cocke County, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
