Softball Recap: East Palestine Gets the Win

East Palestine posted their closest win since March 25th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wellsville Tigers, sneaking past 5-3. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Kennedy Andre was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Graycee Ford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Alivia Magness was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win got East Palestine back to even at 8-8. As for Wellsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wellsville beat East Palestine by a score of 11-10 later that day.
