Softball Recap: Hill Comes Up Short

Hill lost to Mt. Pleasant back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Falcons fell 10-7 to the Cardinals. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly three runs.

Adelina Stewart and Bryanna Aguilar stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stewart got on base in three of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Aguilar got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.

Hill has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Mt. Pleasant, their record is now 10-11.

Coming up, Hill will challenge San Jose at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.65 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will face off against Oak Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
