Basketball Recap: San Angelo Central Comes Up Short

San Angelo Central has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 75-69 heartbreaker at the hands of the Frenship Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 57-49 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

San Angelo Central's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Frenship, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

San Angelo Central and Frenship should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. San Angelo Central (ranked 94th) will meet Odessa (ranked 595th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Frenship will square off against Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 778 places (85 vs. 863).
